Late last week it was announced that Kansas Jayhawks head coach Les Miles had tested positive for COVID-19.
Well Miles spoke publicly on Sunday night for the first time since the announcement, saying on Twitter, “Hey Jayhawks, just wanted to thank you for your prayers and support as I fight through this virus. I’m quarantined in my house and my health is pretty good, so I’m thankful for that. Our football team is in good hands. I am still able to get to Zoom meetings as we prepare our West Virginia game plan. I can’t wait to get back to our players and coaches as soon as it is safe to do so. So, stay safe and Rock Chalk Jayhawk.”
Here is a look at the video:
It’s not clear when exactly Miles tested positive and how long his quarantine will last, but KU’s bye week certainly came at the right time as he might be able to be on the sidelines this weekend against the Mountaineers, but at this point I would bet against it.
KU is coming off a 47-7 loss to the Oklahoma State Cowboys last week in Lawrence.
The Jayhawks are 0-3 on the seat and will take on the Mountaineers in Morgantown with an 11:00 a.m. kick off on Saturday.
UPDATE: Les Miles is planning on being at KU’s game this weekend in Morgantown.
