Jim Traber, Rashaun Woods Calls for Mike Gundy to be Fired Following Bedlam Loss

Bedlam was a tough one for Oklahoma State on Saturday night in Norman. The Cowboys got destroyed by the Sooners 41-13. Even Baker Mayfield was trolling Oklahoma State on social media in the first half.

But it’s not just the final score, it’s how the Cowboys lost that has many around Oklahoma State upset. Notably, the Pokes punted the ball from the OU 44-yard line with 12 minutes left in the game down 21 points. That’s Mike Gundy waiving the white flag.

With the loss, Mike Gundy is now 2-14 in his career against Oklahoma. Considering this is the Golden Era for Cowboys football, that’s just a brutal record in the rivalry.

And following the game, longtime Oklahoma radio personality Jim Traber and former Oklahoma State star Rashaun Woods were on the Sports Animal in OKC called for Gundy to be fired following the performance.

Yes, they’re just talking heads, but it does give you a sense that despite all of Gundy’s success, his inability to even come close in most games against their biggest rival is starting to wear on the OSU fan base. I talked about this very issue on my podcast this week with The Oklahoman’s Berry Tramel, who did not think a loss would drastically affect Gundy’s standing with the program. But is the tide changing or is this just initial post-game emotion?
