One of the best stories in college football continues to not get enough attention and that’s what Iowa State Cyclones running back Breece Hall is doing this season.
And finally, as the latest Heisman Trophy odds came out on Monday, Hall is getting some love.
For on his stats, Hall is just one of two running backs, with Texas-San Antonio RB Sincere McCormick, to have over 1,000 yards rushing in this strange college football season. Hall has rushed for over 100 yards and has scored at least one touchdown in each of Iowa State’s eight games in 2020. Last week, he tore up Kansas State for 135 yards on just 15 carries with two scores in a 45-0 win.
Hall is still a long shot, but here are the latest numbers.
2020 Heisman Trophy Odds (11/23/20)
Kyle Trask – Florida QB 4/7
Mac Jones – Alabama QB 3/1
Justin Fields – Ohio State QB 4/1
Trevor Lawrence – Clemson QB 10/1
Zach Wilson – BYU QB 16/1
Breece Hall – Iowa State RB 25/1

So while a QB is still much more likely to win the award, if Hall goes off against Texas this week and then finishes up the season strong against West Virginia, and then maybe OU in a Big 12 title game, his name will start getting even more publicity in the coming weeks.
And it looks like no matter what, Hall has a great chance to be the first Cyclone to finish in the top 10 of the Heisman voting since Troy Davis finished just behind Danny Wuerffel in the 1996 Heisman race.
