Spread: TCU (-24.5)
Fun Fact: TCU is 7-1 against Kansas since joining the Big 12. Kansas most recent win was two years ago when the Jayhawks won 27-26 in Lawrence.
TCU Horned Frogs
QB Max Duggan
It had been a strange year for Max Duggan. There is no question about his athletic ability as he has proven time and time again that he is dangerous running the football. However, as a passer he still has a ways to go. While his completion percentage is up from a year ago, Max has thrown just five touchdowns this season. He has had his moments but overall, Max has been wildly inconsistent in the passing game. This would be a great opportunity to get on the right path.
DE Khari Coleman
Khari has been a pleasant surprise on the defensive line for TCU as he is just a freshman. But do not let his youth fool you, this young man can play. Khari is fourth in the Big 12 in tackles for loss and over the past few weeks, he has gotten better and better. Normally, I would be hesitant to put a freshman on my player to watch but against a team like Kansas, he should get plenty of opportunities to make plays.
QB Jalon Daniels
The stats will not show it, but Jalon Daniels has been the lone bright spot on the Kansas offense. As a true freshman, he has been thrown into the fire and despite not throwing a touchdown pass yet, you cannot question his toughness. Behind a bad offensive line, Jalon has taken hit after hit and yet, he gets back up and gets right back at it. I love that mentality from a quarterback and although he is going through some tough times, he is gaining valuable experience.
S Kenny Logan Jr.
Much like the offense, the defense has not had many bright spots either. But Kenny Logan Jr. has made a name for himself not just on the defensive side of the ball but in the kick return game as well. He not only leads the team in tackles but is a leader on that Jayhawks defense.
TCU Horned Frogs
Luckily for TCU, Kansas struggles to stop the one thing they do well on offense. Which of course is running the football. The Jayhawks are dead last in the Big 12 against the run as they are giving up 213.7 yards per game on ground. Expect TCU to take full advantage of that between quarterback Max Duggan and running backs Darwin Barlow and Kendre Miller. Heck, Zach Evans may get some decent carries as well in this game. Defensively, I do not see why TCU should not hold Kansas to 14 points or less.
I believe the Jayhawks best option is to continue to try and run their offense. Keep Jalon Daniels progressing and do not let him to do much. This season is a lost cause for Kansas so getting guys valuable experience should be a main priority. On defense, Kansas should load up the box and force Max Duggan to throw the football.
TCU 31, Kansas 7
The Horned Frogs will win. The better question is do they cover the spread? But regardless, TCU gets a big win it desperately needs down the home stretch of the season.
