6:00 p.m. Central Time, Saturday November 28th, 2020, McLane Stadium, Waco, Texas
Radio: K-State Sports Network, Baylor Sports Network
Spread: Baylor (-5.5)
Fun Fact: Since 2010, Baylor is 7-3 against Kansas State with the Wildcats last win coming in 2017.
Kansas State Wildcats
QB Will Howard and Nick Ast
It looks like Kansas State may have both quarterbacks play on Saturday. Will Howard is a threat to run the football but neither quarterback was able to generate any type of momentum against Iowa State last week. One of these two guys will have to step up and take control of the offense.
DE Wyatt Hubert
Who else could it be in this spot? Wyatt is a one-man wrecking crew on the Kansas State defense. He has five and a half sacks on the season and is third in the Big 12 in tackles for loss. This is a guy who can always make a big play at any time and Baylor will always need to pay attention to him.
QB Charlie Brewer
With little help from his supporting cast, Charlie has struggled this season as his numbers are down. With just 11 touchdown passes this season, Charlie is averaging just 6.4 yards per completion. However, in this matchup, he is the best quarterback. If he cannot make it happen with his arm, he can run the football.
LB Dillon Doyle
In Terel Bernard’s absence, Dillon Doyle the Iowa transfer has payed extremely well. He has 40 tackles so far this season and against a run heavy Kansas State offense, Dillon could rack up a double-digit tackle game.
Both defenses are not particularly good against the run. Kansas State is giving up an average of 170.9 rushing yards per game while Baylor is giving up 171.8 per game. As bad as both defenses are against the run, surprisingly neither offense is a good rushing team despite their limitations in the passing game. Kansas State ranks eighth in the Big 12 in rushing offense while Baylor is dead last averaging a lowly 107.8 yards per game. Both teams want to establish the run and that will be the key. Who ever runs for the most yards will likely win this game. If you enjoy a classic game from pre-2000 era, then this is the game for you.
Baylor 24 Kansas State 21
The Bears have played good quarters and halves, but have yet to put it all together. But with the way Kansas State is reeling and uncertainty at QB, this is the game for Baylor to get over the hump and get back in the win column for the first time since the season opener against Kansas.
