The Kansas Jayhawks vs. Texas Longhorns game has been cancelled due to COVID-19 issues with Texas. The Longhorns have been dealing with COVID issues in their football operations for the last few days and have had to call off team activities as a result.
This is now the second Big 12 game cancelled this weekend over COVID-19, as West Virginia vs. Oklahoma was also called off due to issues with the Mountaineers. This came a couple of weeks after the game, originally scheduled for three weeks ago, was moved over COVID problems with the Sooners.
For the Jayhawks, this likely ends their season, as they were 0-9 coming into this weekend. However, their season, by their standards, will end on a high note as the Jayhawks played their best, and closest, game of the season last week, losing to Texas Tech 16-13.
As for Texas, the Longhorns will likely still play in a bowl game and will look to keep their momentum after blasting the Kansas State Wildcats 69-31 last week in Manhattan.
Questions are still surrounding what the future of Tom Herman is with the Texas Longhorns, but they have quieted down as of late after Urban Meyer reportedly told people he was not planning on returning to coaching.
