As we get ready for next week’s Big 12 Championship Game from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, we’ve got our opening spread and the official over/under.
According to BetOnline.ag, the Oklahoma Sooners have opened up as a five-point favorite over the Iowa State Cyclones. The over/under for the game has been set at 60 points combined between the two teams.
The two teams met earlier in the season when the Iowa State Cyclones pulled off the 37-30 upset of the Sooners. It was the first time since 1960 the Cyclones had beaten the Sooners in Ames, and it also marked the first time since 1999 that OU had lost two-straight regular season games.
The Oklahoma Sooners have a little more time to prepare for the game as well, as this weekend’s game against the West Virginia Mountaineers was cancelled due to COVID-19 issues with WVU.
At Iowa State, Matt Campbell has taken the Cyclones to unprecedented heights, as they are trying to win their first conference title in football in 108 years. Campbell’s name has become arguably the hottest name on the job market.
The Oklahoma Sooners are eyeing a sixth-straight Big 12 championship, as they look to continue their domination of the conference, even though they started off 0-2 in Big 12 play.
The College Football Playoff rankings came out this week with Iowa State at No. 7 and Oklahoma and No. 11. Both are long shots for a playoff appearance and would need help, but Iowa State clearly has the better chance.
Oklahoma vs. Iowa State kicks off at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 19th, on ABC.
