There was plenty of drama before and after the Cotton Bowl, which Oklahoma won 55-20 over Florida.
The Sooners dominated this game from start to finish and after the game, Lincoln Riley made the case that Oklahoma was College Football Playoff worthy.
But it was what Florida head coach Dan Mullen said after the game that made more headlines. Mullen said after the Gators got ripped, “The last game this 2020 team played was eleven days ago.” Mullen said. “A lot of the guys who were out there playing tonight were on scout team most of the year.” And to top it all of he said, “We had the numbers not to play.”
That led to plenty of strong reaction, but none stronger than Oklahoma radio host Teddy Lehman, who tweeted out that Dan Mullen was a disgrace to the game and to his players.
It doesn’t get much more opinionated than that from Lehman, who is a former Sooners linebacker and is also the color voice for the Oklahoma football broadcast, alongside play-by-play man Toby Rowland.
Also, several Oklahoma players were tweeting after the game trolling the Gators for their performance.
My next question is can we get these two teams back on the field for a non-conference game sometime soon? Boy, that would be fun.
