Watch: Texas Signee Ja’Tavion Sanders Makes Incredible One-Handed Catch

NCAA Football: Texas at West Virginia

The Texas high school football playoffs are underway, and Texas Longhorns signee Ja’Tavion Sanders made an incredible one-handed catch for the Denton Ryan Raiders.

The catch gave the Denton Ryan Raiders a 7-0 lead in the game.

Check out the catch below.

Denton Ryan would go on to beat Highland Park 17-7 to advance to the state semifinals next week.

Ja’Tavion Sanders is a two-way start and technically, according to 247Sports, listed as a defensive end prospect. But as 247Sports wrote last month, “Legitimate high-major recruit on both sides of the ball. Owns requisite size/frame of high-major edge defender or flex tight end. Ample snaps both ways and production to match. Impressive functional athleticism and play speed relative to size. Consistent hands catcher as an outside receiver who wins matchups against cornerbacks. Regularly shows enough speed to outrun high school DB’s.

The 247Sports Composite puts Sanders at No. 21 overall in the country’s 2021 recruiting class. He is ranked as the nation’s No. 1 athlete prospect in the class, as well as No. 3 overall in the state of Texas for his class.

After watching that catch, Sam Ehlinger might’ve wished he returned for the 2021 season. Meantime, Casey Thompson and Hudson Card are likely asking Tom Herman if they can get Ja’Tavion Sanders some wide receiver reps next summer.
