Sure, the Class of 2021 isn’t technically even over yet, but why not look ahead? Especially when the No. 1 recruit in the state of Texas and No. 2 running back in the country has two Big 12 teams in his Top 5.
Running back Rueben Owens has listed his top five schools and they include the Oklahoma Sooners, Texas Longhorns, Teas A&M Aggies, LSU Tigers and Georgia Bulldogs. That’s two Big 12 schools and three SEC programs.
Owens made the news official on Twitter on Sunday night.
According to his 247Sports profile, Rueben Owens is a four-star prospect and is the No. 26 player in the Class of 2023.
The running back out of El Campo, Texas is listed at 5’11” and 190 pounds. He’s coming off a season where he rushed for 1,511 yards on 140 attempts, with 22 rushing touchdowns. He also had five receptions for 114 yards. This follows up a freshman campaign of over 800 rushing yards and eight scores.
