Breece Hall is Fired Up After Not Winning Doak Walker Award

What a year it has been for Iowa State football. After winning nine games for the second time in school history, they finished the season with a dominant Fiesta Bowl victory over Oregon just a week ago. But despite the magical season, one thing that did not come to fruition was Breece Hall winning the Doak Walker award for being the nation’s top running back in college football. Alabama’s Najee Harris took the award.
Well immediately afterwards, Hall responded on social media and sounds like he’s taking notes and is fired up for the 2021 season.
Breece Hall one year older and experienced and even more fired up? Watch out, Big 12.
Breece had a season to remember leading the FBS in rushing (1,572) as he rushed for 100 or more yards nine times this season. He also was second in rushing touchdowns (21) only behind Alabama’s Najee Harris. But perhaps his most impressive stat was his 935 yards after contact which led the nation according to PFF.
Despite being just a sophomore, Breece was named a consensus All-American last week as well. It has been quite the memorable season for him and I am sure he will be only nearly every preseason All-American and award watch list next season.
