The Cyclones will be down another defensive lineman next season.
Defensive tackle Joshua Bailey announced he has entered the transfer portal as a graduate transfer on Thursday. This news comes just days after his brother, JaQuan, announced he is declaring for the 2021 NFL Draft.
Bailey made the announcement on Twitter.
Josh Bailey racked up 15 total tackles and five tackles for loss during the 2020 season, where he played in all 12 games after limited playing time his first three seasons on campus.
This leaves the Cyclones thin on the defensive line, with only Isaiah Lee returning with any experience. But good news came later in the day, when Enyi Uwazurike announced he would use the extra year of eligibility granted by the NCAA and come back to Iowa State.
The Cyclones are coming off their best season in program history after reaching the Big 12 Championship Game and then winning the Fiesta Bowl.
