Baylor vs. West Virginia Basketball Game Postponed Due to COVID-19

NCAA Basketball: Baylor at West Virginia

The upcoming Baylor vs. West Virginia game has been postponed due to COVID-19 exposure within the Mountaineers program.

West Virginia was coming off a tough loss to the Texas Longhorns that saw Andrew Jones hit the game-winning shot for UT. Meantime, Baylor was coming off a win over TCU on Saturday to improve to 11-0 as the No. 2 team in the country.

Coincidentally enough, our own Matthew Postins wrote on Sunday how the Big 12 had been pretty lucky thus far with COVID-19, writing in part, “To this point in Big 12 action, the men’s basketball schedule has seen remarkably little change, aside from the postponement of the Big 12 opener between the Baylor Bears and the Texas Longhorns on Dec. 13. That game, at the moment, can cozily fit into the 11-day buffer the league has built between its expected completion on Feb. 27 and the start of the Big 12 Tournament in Kansas City. And it’s the only postponed Big 12 game to this point.”

Baylor vs. West Virginia now becomes the second Big 12 game postponed due to COVID, but can also fit into the 11-day window between February 27th and the start of the Big 12 Tournament in Kansas City in early March.
