Texas Running Back Keaontay Ingram Enters Transfer Portal

NCAA Football: Oklahoma State at Texas

Texas Longhorn running back Keaontay Ingram has entered the transfer portal according to a report from 247 Sports.

There were rumors about if the senior running back would transfer and now it is official. Ingram was the fourth leading rusher for the Longhorns in 2020 with 53 carries for 250 yards and one rushing touchdown.

Prior to his injury later in the 2020 season, Keaontay was benched in the Oklahoma game after fumbling on his first carry as well as fumbling on the goal line a week prior in the Texas loss to TCU.

After posting back-to-back 800-yard seasons as a freshman and sophomore, Keaontay took a step back this past season between on the field struggles and an injury as he played in six games. The emergence of true freshman running back Bijan Robinson and a new staff was likely the reason for the decision to move on from Austin.
