New Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian has huge expectations as he takes over a Texas program that hasn’t been consistently in the national conversation in over a decade.
But one of his new assistant’s wives is making even bolder predictions for the Longhorns.
Last week Texas added Alabama special teams coordinator Jeff Banks to the staff, and his wife is already making big statements that hopefully this new staff will be able to back up.
Here are some examples from Dani Banks’ Twitter.
What’s interesting about Banks’ Twitter account is that it was dormant for most of the past year, up until the last two weeks when she started tweeting again around the time of the National Championship game between Alabama and Ohio State.
Now I have no problem with the confidence, but if we’re being honest, it might be best to not put even more pressure on this staff than there already is. Heck, Tom Herman was in a Big 12 Championship Game two seasons ago and now he’s gone.
Things can turn fast in college football, and they turn even faster at Texas.
I’m rooting for Steve Sarkisian and this staff. I’ve always said the Big 12 is better, and college football is better, when Texas is in the national conversation.
But lots of very talent coaches have been on the Texas staff the past 10 years and no one has taken them back to that level of success. So let’s see what happens.
