Texas Tech QB Alan Bowman Enters NCAA Transfer Portal

The Texas Tech Red Raiders are going to have to move on from quarterback Alan Bowman, who announced on Twitter on Friday morning he would be entering the NCAA Transfer Portal.
Bowman wrote in part, “I, first, want to thank Coach Kingsbury for seeing something in me that no other Big 12 school saw in giving me an opportunity to attend this amazing university. I also want to thank Coach Wells for the opportunity to represent this program the past two years… with that being said, I have decided to enter the transfer portal as a graduate transfer with 3 years of eligibility remaining.”
Bowman burst onto the scene in 2018 under Kliff Kingsbury, finishing with 2,600 passing yards, 17 touchdowns and seven interceptions. He was never able to duplicate that success under new head coach Matt Wells, who preferred more of a dual-threat option than what Bowman brought to the table. The last two seasons, Bowman combined for 2,600 yards, 16 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. He also dealt with injuries that hampered him the last couple of seasons.
We wish the best of luck to Bowman and will follow him wherever he lands.
