No. 1 Running Back in Class of 2022 Puts Oklahoma in Final Seven Schools

NCAA Football: Big 12 Championship-Baylor vs Oklahoma

The Oklahoma Sooners have made the final cut for Raleek Brown, the No. 1 running back in the Class of 2021.

Brown made the announcement on Twitter on Sunday night. Along with Oklahoma, the schools to make the list included LSU, Georgia, Oregon, Michigan, Alabama and USC.

Brown is listed at 5’8” and 185 pounds and is from Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, California. Rivals has him listed as the No. 1 running back in the country, while 247Sports lists him as the No. 3 running back in the class.

Both outlets have Raleek Brown listed as a Top 35 player in the country.

For what it’s worth, the 247Sports crystal ball predictions are all leaning to the Oklahoma Sooners as the favorite to land Brown. Rivals is also predicting the Sooners to land Brown.

The Sooners have had a bunch of players rotating at running back in recent seasons, but many have had success. Rhamondre Stevenson declared for the NFL Draft after taking the bulk of the carries in the second half of the 2020 season. This came after an offseason that included Trey Sermon transferring to Ohio State and then Kennedy Brooks opting out of the 2020 season due to COVID-19.

Most recently, Oklahoma landed running back Eric Gray from Tennessee via transfer.

But as we look to the future of the Oklahoma backfield, we now wait for February 5th, to see if the Sooners can land Raleek Brown.
