Jaydon Blue, No. 2 RB in Class of 2022, Picks Texas Longhorns

NCAA Football: Texas at West Virginia

Steve Sarkisian‘s recruiting chops are already starting to pay off with the Texas Longhorns.

On Tuesday, the No. 2 running back in the Class of 2022, according to Rivals, committed to the Texas Longhorns.

Jaydon Blue made the announcement on Twitter.

247Sports has Blue listed as a Top 60 player nationally and the No. 4 running back in the country.

Blue is a Houston, Texas native who was always high on the Longhorns, but in recent months Alabama started to make some moves. However the 5-11, 205-pound Blue stuck with Texas and it likely didn’t hurt that Steve Sarkisian came from the Crimson Tide, along with multiple members of the Alabama coaching staff.

Per a recent conversation with OrangeBloods, Blue was cooling on an early commitment as he wanted to see the new coaching staff in action, but apparently the relationship was strong enough for him to change his mind.

To think of a 2022 Texas backfield with junior Bijan Robinson and freshman Jaydon Blue is already making Big 12 defensive coordinators sweat.
