Oklahoma Adds Kent State to 2022 Football Schedule

Oklahoma has completed its 2022 non-conference schedule after adding a third opponent, Kent State, to the schedule for September 10th, 2022.
FBSchedules.com was first to report the addition. This will be the first time ever these two programs have met in football
The Sooners will open the season on Sept. 3 at home against the UTEP Miners, then take on Kent State, which is followed by a road trip to play the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Sept. 17. In Big 12 action in 2022, Oklahoma will host Baylor, Kansas, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, and Texas (in Dallas) and will play at Iowa State, TCU, Texas Tech, and West Virginia.
The news comes one day after the Big 12 announced the conference schedule for the 2021 season.
In 2021, the Sooners non-conference starts off on the road at Tulane on September 4th, followed by home games against Western Carolina and then the Nebraska Cornhuskers. The OU-NU game will be played during the 50-year anniversary season of the 1971 “Game of the Century” that was also held in Norman.
