247Sports Names Two TCU Players in Top 50 Transfers List

Two TCU players are on the 247Sports Top 50 transfer list that the outlet released this week. The list included two players coming from Memphis to TCU in offensive lineman Obinna Eze and defensive back T.J. Carter.
Eze is a 6-foot-8, 315-pounder is a former recruit from the Class of 2017, who was ranked a four-star prospect coming out of high school and was the No. 21 offensive tackle prospect. He chose Memphis over offers from Alabama, Florida, Auburn, Georgia, LSU and Michigan. Eze, a native of Nigeria, did not start playing football until 2015 after moving to Nashville. In this list of transfers, he was ranked as the No. 15 overall player on the list and as the No. 3 offensive tackle.
Eze also started all 11 games for the Tigers in the 2020 season giving him 25 starts in his career. The Tigers’ offense was outstanding this past season, helping the program rack up almost 7,000 yards of offense and winning the AAC Title.
Meantime, T.J. Carter started for four years at Memphis and had 187 tackles, seven interceptions and four fumble recoveries. Carter is ranked as the No. 30 overall player and No. 3 cornerback on the list. The Frogs have to replace Trevone Moehrig and Ar’Darius Washington, who both declared for the NFL Draft earlier this month, and made one of the best 1-2 punches of any secondary duo in the nation during the 2020 college football season.
