Big 12 Basketball Schedule Changes Announced

NCAA Basketball: Big 12 Championship-Iowa State vs West Virginia

The Big 12 Conference announced changes to the rest of the men’s basketball schedule for the 2020-21 season on Tuesday afternoon.

As was being reported on Tuesday morning when Big 12 athletic directors were scheduled to meet, the West Virginia at Baylor game set for Thursday, February 25 has been cancelled. The Big 12 said this would be to avoid scheduling a team to play three games in successive weeks.

The Baylor Bears haven’t played a game in over three weeks, since winning on the road at No. 6 Texas on February 2nd. The Bears have the most games to make up.

The Big 12 Conference did create a buffer week for games to be made up the week of March 1st, which in hindsight looks like a great move, as several games will be played that week. Here’s a look at the rest of the Big 12 basketball schedule.

Remaining Big 12 basketball schedule

Monday, March 1
Oklahoma at Oklahoma State (ESPN), 8:00 p.m. CT

Tuesday, March 2

Sunday, March 7

This new schedule allows as many games as possible to be played prior to the Big 12 Tournament beginning on Wednesday, March 10th. Just last week, Kansas City announced that fans will be allowed in the T-Mobile center next week with 20% capacity.
