Texas Longhorns Land Rueben Owens, No. 2 RB in Class of 2023

NCAA Football: Texas at Texas Tech

New Texas Longhorns head coach Steve Sarkisian continues to impress on the recruiting trail. On Thursday night, Class of 2023 four-star running back Rueben Owens announced he had committed to the Texas Longhorns.

The announcement came on Twitter.

This comes just weeks after the No. 2 running back in the Class of 2022, Jaydon Blue, announced he would be committing to the Longhorns.

Owens is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 1 player in Texas, the No. 2 running back in the country and the No. 26 player in the country in the Class of 2023.

Back to the Class of 2022, also in recent days, Texas landed a top ten wide receiver in Evan Stewart from Frisco, TX.

Also this past weekend, five-star wide receiver Kevin Coleman had high praise for Steve Sarkisian and the Texas coaching staff. Oh, and a five-star cornerback put the Longhorns in his Top 5.

The most recent 247Sports recruiting rankings has the Texas Longhorns ranked with the No. 5 class in the country in 2022, behind Ohio State, Georgia, LSU and Penn State, and one spot ahead of the Oklahoma Sooners.
