Texas Lands Top 60 Player in Four-Star Safety Bryan Allen Jr.

NCAA Football: Texas at West Virginia

The commitments continue to roll in for new Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian. On Sunday afternoon, four-star safety Bryan Allen Jr. announced on Twitter he had committed to the Longhorns.

According to 247Sports, Allen is the No. 6 safety in the nation, No. 13 player in Texas and No. 58 player nationally.

Bryan Allen Jr. is from Aledo, Texas and chose the Longhorns over offers from LSU, Oklahoma, Florida, Michigan, Ohio State, Oklahoma and Texas A&M. Allen was previously committed to LSU for the last year, but he decided to open his recruitment in January and the Longhorns kept him closer to home.

Sarkisian’s staff has added a ton of studs in recent weeks, including the No. 2 running back in the Class of 2022 in Jaydon Blue, plus five-star quarterback Maalik Murphy.

According to 247Sports, the Longhorns now have the No. 4 class in the Class of 2022 rankings, trailing only the Ohio State Buckeyes, LSU Tigers and Georgia Bulldogs. The addition of Allen allowed Texas to jump Oklahoma (ranked No. 7) and in-state recruiting rival Texas A&M (ranked No. 5).
