Patrick Mahomes to Chris Beard: ‘Please Stay!’
All eyes in the college basketball world who aren’t on the NCAA Tournament are on the state of Texas?
Why? Well, for one, the Texas Longhorns are hiring a head coach after Shaka Smart left conveniently for Marquette. And then in Lubbock, Chris Beard’s name is being tied to the Longhorns.
And while one can make a case on both ends of the argument that Beard stays in Lubbock or goes to Austin, one person has chimed in that might have quite a bit of sway: Patrick Mahomes.
Mahomes tweeted out on Sunday:
Well, that’s a great pitch, but my question is Mahomes putting his money where his mouth is?! The guy did sign the richest contract in NFL history last offseason!
I say this in jest, however, it never hurts when the biggest NFL star is asking you to stay in Lubbock. That being said, there’s going to need to be more than just a tweet for Mahomes, if Beard is on the fence.
The other other candidates Texas is reportedly considering and looking at includes Royal Ivey, Dana Altman and John Beilein.
