Iowa State Transfer Jaquan Amos Tells Other Big 12 Teams to Stop Contacting Him

NCAA Football: Iowa State at West Virginia

Iowa State spring practice is getting underway this week and even players who have never played a down for Cyclone Nation are already ready to take the field in 2021.

The Cyclones landed coveted defensive back transfer Jaquan Amos from Villanova in the offseason, and the graduate transfer is now calling out other Big 12 teams who are interested in his services.

Amos tweeted out on Tuesday:

OK, now I’m wondering which Big 12 school(s) it might have been. Hm…

We know that Amos was also considering West Virginia and Kansas State, but we can’t confirm either way whether or not those were the schools still reaching out to Amos.

Villanova didn’t play this past fall due to COVID-19 and the FCS instead playing spring football. However, in his prior three seasons, Amos played in 33 games and racked up 109 tackles, six tackles for loss, eight interceptions, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. He was considered one of the top available secondary transfers.

And with Iowa State a likely preseason Top 10 team in the country and expected to be the biggest competitor to Oklahoma in 2020, count Jaquan Amos as a guy who is looking forward to that challenge with the Cyclones and it sure doesn’t seem like there’s any changing his mind.
