Texas DB Avyonne Jones Decommits from Oklahoma State

The Oklahoma State Cowboys lost a three-star defensive back on Sunday night. Southlake, TX Carroll cornerback Avyonne Jones announced his de-commitment from the Cowboys and reopened his recruitment.

“After further consideration and multiple conversations with my family, I’ve decided to de-commit from Oklahoma State University,” Jones said on Twitter. “I’d like to thank the university and the staff for the opportunity, but I’ve decided to move a different direction.”

 

Jones was previously the 10th commitment for Oklahoma State in the 2022 class.

Jones is 5’11” and 180 pounds and is rated as a three-star prospect by 247Sports. He is ranked as the No. 93 cornerback and No. 129 overall prospect in the state of Texas.

Jones has 23 known offers, which includes Big 12 schools Kansas State and Texas Tech. Others on the list are Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Houston, Louisville, Louisiana Tech, Mississippi State, Northwestern, Tennessee and others.
