Former Kansas State Guard Kamau Stokes Wins Swedish Basketball Title

Former Kansas State guard Kamau Stokes is now a Swedish basketball champion, as his Norrköping Dolphins recently won the Swedish Basketball League championship.
Stokes, who played for the Wildcats for four seasons and last played for the Wildcats in 2019, helped the Dolphins win the championship series against Södertälje BBK, 4-0, with a 91-86 victory in Game 4.
Stokes scored 18 points in that championship clinching game. He also had eight rebounds, six assists and a steal.
The Dolphins gave Stokes plenty of love on social media after the championship.

In Game 3 of the series, Stokes had 21 points, seven assists, and four rebounds. In Game 2 Stokes had a double-double, with 12 points and 10 rebounds, along with four assists. In Game 1 Stokes had nine points, eight rebounds, and nine assists.
Stokes signed with the Dolphins in September, after spending the previous season with the Poland-based Polpharma Starogard Gdański. Stokes averaged averaged 16.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 1.6 steals per game.
With K-State, Stokes was the third player to finish his career with at least 1,000 points, 200 3-point field goals, 400 assists and 100 steals. He won 88 games alongside Barry Brown and Dean Wade, which included a trip to the 2018 NCAA Tournament’s Elite Eight.
The Swedish Basketball League is the country’s premier league and is part of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA). The Dolphins last won the championship in 2018, and this is their fifth championship overall.
