Four-Star OL George Maile Commits to Baylor Bears

NCAA Football: West Virginia at Baylor

The Baylor Bears continue to beef up the offensive line on the recruiting trail by adding South Jordan (UT) Bingham High School’s George Maile‍ to their 2022 Class. The 6-foot-4, 290-pounder visited Baylor over the weekend and gave his commitment to Dave Aranda’s staff on Monday.

According to 247Sports, Maile is a four-star prospect who is ranked as the No. 2 player in the state of Utah and No. 14 interior offensive lineman in the nation. Maile chose Baylor over offers from Nebraska, TCU, USC, Oregon, UCLA, Tennessee and others.

He is currently the 2nd highest rated commit in the 2022 class for the Bears and the fifth offensive lineman committed in the class.

Dave Aranda is realizing he needs to get more talent on the offensive line. The Bears ranked last in the Big 12 last season, averaging a Big 12-worst 90.3 rushing yards per game and were tied with Kansas at 2.7 yards per carry. Baylor also gave up 31 sacks in nine games, second worst in the conference ahead of only the Jayhawks.
