TCU’s Mike Miles Makes Cut at USA Men’s U19 World Cup Team

NCAA Basketball: Oklahoma State at Texas Tech

TCU guard Mike Miles made the first cut for the 2021 USA Basketball Men’s U19 World Cup team, which will represent the US later this summer in Latvia.

Miles was among 17 players selected by the USA Basketball Men’s Junior National Team Committee on Monday. But, his boss, head coach Jamie Dixon, is also the head coach for Team USA. Oklahoma State head coach Mike Boynton Jr. has served as a floor coach during practices in Fort Worth.

Miles was an All-Big 12 Freshman Team selection who averaged 13.6 points per game. He’s one of the few starters returning to TCU next season, as the program has been decimated by transfers.

The other Big 12 player to make the cut was Kendall Brown, a significant piece of the Baylor Bears’ incoming 2021 recruiting class. Brown played at Sunrise Christian Academy in Wichita, Kansas, and has not donned a Bears jersey just yet.
