Justin Williams announced his commitment to West Virginia on Monday, the second Class of 2022 four-star player to commit to the Mountaineers in as many days.
Williams, a 6-foot, 200-pound running back out of East Paulding High School in Dallas, Georgia, chose the Mountaineers over Louisville, Missouri, Nebraska, Akron and Arkansas, among others. His commitment comes less than a month after his visit to Morgantown.
Verbal commitments are non-binding. The earliest Williams can sign with the Mountaineers is December.
Williams is rated as a four-star player by Rivals.com, and a three-star player by 247Sports.com. Rivals.com considers him a Top 15 running back in the nation.
With his commitment, West Virginia now has the No. 41 class in the country, per 247Sports.com, with 12 ‘hard commits’ for the program. The Mountaineers have two other four-star recruits that have committed — American Heritage cornerback Jacolby Spells out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and quarterback Nicco Marchiol out of Hamilton High School in Chandler, Arizona. Spells committed to the Mountaineers on July 4.
Per 247Sports.com, the Mountaineers have the fifth-best class in the Big 12 right now, with Oklahoma State, Baylor, Texas and Oklahoma currently ahead of the Mountaineers.
