Texas Tech’s Austin McNamara on Ray Guy Award Watch List

Texas Tech punter Austin McNamara is among five Big 12 players selected to the 2021 Ray Guy Award Watch List, which was released on Wednesday.
McNamara was the All-Big 12 First Team punter in 2020, as he punted 41 times, averaging 46.3 yards per attempt. He had 12 punts that went at least 50 yards and had 11 that were downed inside the 20, with at least one punt downed inside the 20 in all nine of Tech’s games.
The Guy Award is given each year to the nation’s best punter.

The other four Big 12 punters selected to the watch list are Issac Power of Baylor, Jordy Sandy of TCU, Ryan Bujcevski of Texas and Tom Hutton of Oklahoma State.
There are three more college football award watch lists to release this week. The Hornung and Wuerrfel Awards are released on Thursday, while the Walter Camp Award is released on Friday.
