Five-Star Guard Keyonte George Commits to Baylor

The Baylor Bears’ future in the Big 12 may be uncertain, but that isn’t stopping Scott Drew and the basketball program from reeling in top-notch recruits.
On Sunday ,the Bears have received a commitment from the No. 1 shooting guard in the country, Keyonte George. The Bears landed George over Texas, Oklahoma State, Kansas and Kentucky.
“The reason for me picking Baylor was that it just felt like home,” said George, according to 247Sports. “The way they are so locked into the game of basketball stood out even more. The coaching staff really cares to develop their guys to reach the goal they want to reach and that really stood out.”
George, from Lewisville, Texas, is ranked the No. 3 overall prospect in the 247Sports Top 150 Player Rankings. He is the second commitment of the Baylor 2022 class, joining four-star guard Dillon Hunter out of Wichita, Kansas. Hunter is No. 9 shooting guard in the country and also a Top 100 prospect in the nation.
While some may believe Baylor could have a tough time recruiting with the Big 12’s future up in the air, clearly Scott Drew is able to sell his program well beyond the conference it plays it as the Bears are coming off winning the 2021 national championship.
