Lincoln Riley Reacts to Death of Western Carolina Assistant Coach

The Oklahoma Sooners are set to open the season in two weeks and then play Western Carolina in three weeks, and the FCS program will be without a member of its coaching staff. John Peacock, offensive line coach, died suddenly and unexpectedly on Wednesday at 32 years old.
WCU put out a statement that read in part, “Known by his colleagues and student-athletes as a selfless, hard worker who was always upbeat and constantly humming or singing, Coach Peacock will be sorely missed. Catamount Athletics will host a moment of silence in his honor during the first football game of the season.”
The OU football Twitter account retweeted and responded to the news as follows.
Then Lincoln Riley responded as well.
Peacock was in his first season coaching at WCU and the Sooners will host the Catamounts in Week 2 on Saturday, September 11th.
