With Week 2 of the Big 12 football season in the books, we now look ahead to Week 3, which includes our first conference match up of the 2021 season. And as we do early in the week, we’ve got our first look at what Vegas is thinking ahead of the weekend as the lines have been released for Big 12 games this weekend.
However, as we note each week, lines for FBS vs. FCS games do not come out until very late in the week. So here are the Big 12 lines for Week 3 in games that feature FBS opponents.
Big 12 Week 3 Lines
Oklahoma -22 vs. Nebraska
Baylor -17 vs. Kansas
Iowa State -30 at UNLV
Kansas State +2.5 vs Nevada
Oklahoma State +5.5 at Boise State
Texas Tech -21.5 vs. Florida International University
Texas -26 vs. Rice
West Virginia -3 vs. Virginia Tech
So the Big 12 is favored in five of its seven non-conference games this week, and had Skylar Thompson not gotten injured for Kansas State, the Wildcats would undoubtedly be favored in their match up against Nevada.
Iowa State opens up as a 30-point favorite against UNLV. The Cyclones should bounce back, but considering they’ve scored 33 points in two games this season, could that number be too generous?
Otherwise, it’s shaping up to be an interesting week of football and now we need to track how these lines move before my picks get released on the Heartland College Sports podcast on Thursday! Go subscribe on iTunes or wherever you get your podcasts so you never miss an episode!
Correction: We inaccurately had Oklahoma State listed as a 13.5-point underdog per an email we received from a sportsbook that was inaccurate in its information. We apologize for this mistake.
