Despite beating West Virginia on Saturday night 16-13, the Oklahoma quarterback position is getting plenty of critiques lately, as Spencer Rattler has certainly not lived up to the Heisman expectations that came leading into the season.
In fact, after Rattler threw an interception on Saturday night, a portion of OU fans started chanting for his back up Caleb WIlliams.
Well after the game, Rattler took to Instagram and posted, “If God is for me, who is against me?”
That post got a ton of love from his teammates, including Marvin Mims, Isaiah Thomas, Jeremiah Hall, Gabe Brkic and Jalen Redmond, just to name a few.
Last season, Spencer Rattler was left off the coaches All-Big 12 First and Second teams, but he made our Heartland College Sports All-Big 12 team.
Rattler finished the 2020 campaign with 3,031 passing yards, 28 touchdown passes and seven interceptions, while completing 68% of his passes. He also ran for 160 yards and six scores.
There still is time for him to turn his season around, but the thought of him winning a Heisman and being a top pick in the NFL Draft, like Baker Mayfield and Kyler Murray, seem less likely by the week.
