Spencer Rattler, Brock Purdy Part of Unitas Top 25

Oklahoma quarterback Spencer Rattler and Iowa State quarterback Brock Purdy made the cut for the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award’s Top 25 quarterbacks for 2021.
This is the first step for the committee to narrow the list of the candidates for the award, given to the nation’s top senior or upperclassman quarterback.
Rattler and Purdy were the only two Big 12 quarterbacks to make the cut.
Rattler is preparing to lead the undefeated Sooners into Saturday’s game with Kansas State, a week ahead of their annual ‘Red River Rivalry’ game with Texas. In four games, Rattler has thrown for 1,017 yards, eight touchdowns and three interceptions. He has also scored two rushing touchdowns.
Purdy has already thrown a school-record 66 career touchdown passes and needs just 130 passing yards to become just the sixth Big 12 player to amass 10,000 passing yards and 1,000 rushing yards in a career. He’s completed 70 percent of his passes and has 888 yards passing, with four touchdowns and four interceptions. The Cyclones are preparing to face Kansas on Saturday.
