Week 6 AP Poll: Texas Longhorns return to Top 25

The Big 12 Conference has three teams ranked in the Associated Press Top 25 poll this week, with the Texas Longhorns returning to the Top 25 after three straight wins.

The Longhorns checked in at No. 21 after beating the TCU Horned Frogs on Saturday. Now the Longhorns prepare for their annual Red River Rivalry game with the Oklahoma Sooners on Saturday in Dallas, Texas.

The Sooners, meanwhile, checked in at No. 6 after beating Kansas State to remain undefeated so far this season.

 

The other Big 12 team in the Top 25 is Oklahoma State, which defeated Baylor on Saturday in a matchup of Top 25 teams. The Cowboys took a big jump, moving to No. 12 after spending last week at No. 19.

Baylor, which was undefeated and No. 21 in last week’s poll, fell out of the poll after losing to the Cowboys. The Bears did receive 24 votes. Texas Tech received four votes after beating West Virginia.

Two future Big 12 members remained in the poll. Cincinnati moved up to No. 5 after defeating Notre Dame, while BYU cracked the Top 10 at No. 10. BYU will face Baylor in two weeks.
