Taylor Robertson on Ann Meyers Drysdale Award Watch List

Oklahoma guard Taylor Robertson is the only Big 12 player selected to the Ann Meyers Drysdale Shooting Guard of the Year Award watch list released on Tuesday.
Robertson, a 5-foot-11 senior for the Sooners, has had a stellar three-year career at OU, where she was named All-Big 12 Second Team in 2021, All-Big 12 Honorable Mention in 2020 and All-Big 12 Freshman in 2019. Last season she averaged 16.1 points per game, made more than three 3-pointers per game and averaged three rebounds per game. For her three-year career Robertson has averaged 16.5 points per game, including a career-high 19.1 points per game in 2019-20.
The Meyers Drysdale Shooting Guard of the Year Award is named after the first player, male or female, named to an All-America team in four straight seasons and who was named Player of the Year during her senior year at UCLA. While still at UCLA, she started on the first women’s Olympic team in 1976. After an All-America career, she became the first player drafted into the Women’s Basketball League, earning WBL MVP and making history by becoming the first female player to tryout with an NBA team, the Indiana Pacers, with whom she signed a free agent contract.
