The Baylor Bears will receive their national championship rings on Friday before their season-opening game with Incarnate Word at the Ferrell Center.
The Bears are the last Big 12 men’s team to have their season opener this week.
The holdover players from last season’s national title team will get their rings in a ceremony that will begin at 6:45 p.m. Along with the ring ceremony, the Bears will hoist their 2021 National Championship banner.
The Bears defeated Gonzaga, 86-70, in the national championship game in April.
The first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a mini-replica of the championship banner.
The Bears are expected to tip off with the Cardinals at approximately 7:31 p.m.
It’s unclear when guard Jared Butler, Davion Mitchell, MaCio Teague and Mark Vital will receive their rings. Butler and Mitchell are in the NBA, and the Bears went to San Antonio earlier this week to check out Mitchell when the Sacramento Kings faced the Spurs.
Teague is playing with the Salt Lake City Stars of the NBA G League. Vital is on the Kansas City Chiefs’ practice squad working on making the transition to tight end.
The Bears also made two signings on the first day of the early National Signing Day window. Keyonte George and Dillon Hunter announced their signings on Wednesday.
