Robert Jennings II signed with the Texas Tech Red Raiders, giving the Red Raiders a four-star recruit as part of their haul during the early signing period.
Jennings, a 6-foot-7 forward, plays for Texas Alliance of Christian Athletes in Dallas, Texas.
Right now, 247Sports.com has Tech with the nation’s No. 88 class, which is No. 10 in the Big 12.
ESPN has Jennings rated as a four-star recruit. He is coming off earning first-team all-conference as a junior where he averaged 19 points and 10 rebounds per game and helped to lead his team to a 21-11 record.
This is the start of the first full recruiting cycle for first-year Tech head coach Mark Adams. He took over in April, and he signed East Los Angeles Community College guard KJ Allen. Adams did bring in several transfers, including Oral Roberts forward Kevin Obanor and Howard guard/forward Davion Warren. Adams was also able to hang onto the core of Terrence Shannon Jr., Kevin McCullar and Marcus Santos-Silva.
The early-signing period ends on Nov. 17. The traditional signing period begins in April. The Red Raiders feature four super-seniors and two seniors on their roster, so there are likely more opportunities for Adams to bring in prep talent during the traditional window.
The Red Raiders opened the regular season with a 89-74 win against North Florida on Tuesday. The Red Raiders will host Grambling State on Friday, followed by another home game on Nov. 15 with Prairie View A&M. Then the Red Raiders head to South Padre Island to face Incarnate Word in the South Padre Island Battle on the Beach on Nov. 20.
