2022 Three-Star Safety Trevon Howard Flips to Iowa State

NCAA Football: Fiesta Bowl-Oregon vs Iowa State

IMG Academy’s Trevon Howard, who committed to Northwestern back in June, announced Sunday that he has flipped his commitment to Iowa State and will be headed to Ames next fall.

Here’s a tweet from Howard sharing the news.

According to 247Sports, Howard is a three-star prospect with a 0.8788 composite ranking and is a huge get for Matt Campbell and staff. The 6’1″ 200lb safety has the traits to contribute right away and could push for playing time as soon as he steps on campus. 247Sports Director of Football Recruiting, Steve Wiltfong, even went as far as to say, “He (Howard) will be a star in the Cyclones secondary.”

With Howard’s commitment, Iowa State’s 2022 class is ranked No. 22 nationally and No. 3 in the Big 12. He held several other offers, including Colorado, Michigan, Michigan State, and NC State.
