AP Top 25 Men: Kansas Leads 3 Big 12 Teams in Top 10

NCAA Basketball: Oklahoma State at Kansas

The Kansas Jayhawks dropped to No. 4 and the Big 12 retained three spots in the Top 10 in the latest Associated Press Men’s Basketball Top 25, released on Monday.

Kansas (3-0) played just one game last week, beating Stony Brook. The Jayhawks were No. 3 last week but fell a spot as Purdue leap-frogged them from No. 6. Kansas is preparing for the ESPN Events Invitational in Orlando, Florida, this week. The Jayhawks could face Dayton and Alabama in back-to-back games, which would be significant tests for the Jayhawks this early in the season.

The Baylor Bears were No. 9 in last week’s poll, but after three wins over Nicholls State, Central Arkansas and Stanford, the defending national champions moved to No. 6. The Bears are facing another Pac-12 team on Wednesday against Arizona State in the Battle 4 Atlantis in Nassau. The Bears could face Syracuse or Virginia Commonwealth in the tournament, too.

Texas started last week at No. 8, and after relatively easy wins over Northern Colorado and San Jose State as part of the Abe Lemons Classic, stayed at No. 8. Texas has just one game this week, hosting Cal Baptist in the final game of the Abe Lemons Classic.

Also receiving votes for the Big 12 was Texas Tech with 26.
