For a second consecutive year, Iowa State’s Breece Hall has been named a Doak Walker Award Finalist, an award annually presented to the nation’s top running back.
Hall joins Missouri’s Tyler Badie and Michigan State’s Kenneth Walker III as the three finalists for the award. He finished second for the award last year to Najee Harris, the current starting running back for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Hall currently ranks seventh nationally in rushing yards with 1,230, good for second in the Big 12. Even more impressive than that, Hall has a rushing touchdown in 23 consecutive games, which ties the FBS record. He also holds school records in career touchdowns (52), rushing touchdowns (47), and points scored (312).
He has been a staple of consistency for Iowa State throughout his career in Ames and should be recognized for helping turn Iowa State into the program it is today.
The winner of the Doak Walker Award will be announced on December 9th at the ESPN Home Depot College Football Awards Show.
Hall and the Cyclones host the TCU Horned Frogs this weekend to close out the regular season. Iowa State is bowl eligible for the fifth straight season, a program record.
