TCU Announces Tuesday News Conference

TCU announced today that there was a “major announcement” that will require a news conference on Tuesday, according to this tweet from Brett McMurphy.
If you are aware of the current events going on in Fort Worth, then you can assume that this “announcement” is the hiring of SMU head coach Sonny Dykes for the same role at TCU. This pairing has been a foregone conclusion for weeks now it seems, and looks like a home run hire by TCU athletic director Jeremiah Donati.
Dykes is well-versed in recruiting the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and has done so successfully during his three-year stint at SMU. With Power-Five resources and the proper staff, Dykes could truly dominate the rich recruiting ground of north Texas.
According to FrogsO’War, SB Nation’s TCU Affiliate, several members of Dykes staff are rumored to be following him to TCU, and they are also expected to add Bryan Carrington, former Texas and USC recruiting specialist. If the rumors are true, Dykes could be on the verge of making TCU the destination program for the new Big 12. But, as we all know, nothing is final until pen touches paper. Fortunately, we won’t have to wait long to find out since the announcement is expected to be made tomorrow.
