If you are a Texas fan and enjoy the sport of boxing as well, then boy do we have some news for you! According to a tweet from Brian Davis of the Austin American-Statesman, Texas star running back Bijan Robinson has signed an NIL deal with DAZN, a boxing streaming service, and will serve as a brand ambassador. Robinson will promote upcoming fights and will also appear on DAZN shows.
Robinson just finished his sophomore year with 1,127 yards and 11 touchdowns rushing and 26 catches for 295 yards and four scores. Robinson rushed for at least 100 yards in six of the team’s first seven games and was a Heisman frontrunner early in the season. Unfortunately, he injured his elbow in a loss to Kansas and missed the final two games of the season.
Fortunately for the Longhorns, Bijan confirmed that he will return to Austin in 2022 and will be the focal point in Sarkisian’s offensive attack.
But in the meantime, Robinson will rehab the elbow and get started with the NIL deal with DAZN. So when you see the Texas running back on a fight promo for the upcoming Haney-Diaz fight, don’t be confused. Yes, that is Bijan Robinson and yes college football is awesome.
