OU’s Isaiah Thomas Goofs on Being the NBA’s Isaiah Thomas

When names collide in sports, it always makes for a fun time. And that’s what Oklahoma defensive lineman Isaiah Thomas did on Thursday.
In the NBA, longtime guard Isaiah Thomas signed a 10-day contract with the Los Angeles Lakers. Thomas is helping the team as they deal with COVID-19 absences. He played 32 games with the Pelicans last season.
And when the report came down, obviously Twitter was all over it.
And shortly after it came out, Oklahoma’s Isaiah Thomas had some fun with it.
Thomas is undoubtedly a great athletic, but he’s probably best off continuing to prepare for the NFL, which he decided to make the move on last week.
Thomas was Oklahoma’s sack leader in 2021 with eight one season while also recording 38 tackles and 11.5 tackles for loss. Those numbers helped him to a second-team All-Big 12 selection for the second consecutive year.
But now that he’s got a little bit of downtime, as he’s not playing in this month’s Alamo Bowl, he’s got time for a few jokes on Twitter, which he’s totally embracing.
