Texas Tech Lands Transfer Offensive Lineman Cade Briggs From New Mexico

The Texas Tech Red Raiders are getting some more help up front after landing veteran offensive lineman Cade Briggs in the transfer portal.
Briggs made the announcement on his Instagram page on Sunday afternoon.
Briggs played left tackle at New Mexico where he started all 12 games for the Lobos (3-9, 1- Mountain West). He has two years of eligibility remaining, along with a redshirt season. He also started at left tackle in all seven games for UNM in the 2020 season and had five starts in 2019, which was his freshman season.
Briggs played his high school football at powerhouse Bishop Gorman in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he was a three-star prospect, according to 247Sports, and ranked as a Top 15 player in the state of Nevada.
This continues an impressive streak on the recruiting trail for new head coach Joey McGuire, who just hauled in a Top 40 recruiting class. The new man in charge was able to get two of Texas Tech’s highest ranked players with defensive lineman Joseph Adedire (Arlington, Texas) and safety Landon Hullaby (Arlington, Texas).
And for those who follow McGuire on social media, where he has been very vocal as of late, he was clearly pumped about adding Briggs to his offensive line room.
Texas Tech will play in the Liberty Bowl next week where they will take on Mississippi State.
