Kansas State’s Ayoka Lee is Big 12 Women’s Basketball Player of the Week

Kansas State’s Ayoka Lee was named the Big 12 Women’s Player of the Week for the second time this season after the Wildcats beat Oregon.
In addition, Kansas State’s Brylee Glenn was named the Big 12 Freshman of the Week. This is Glenn’s second Freshman of the Week honor and the fourth straight week a Kansas State freshman has taken the honor. Serena Sundell has taken the other two.
Lee, Glenn and the Wildcats defeated Oregon, 68-56. While Oregon was not ranked in the AP Top 25 at the time, the Ducks were ranked No. 23 in the Coaches’ poll.
Lee scored 19 points, had 12 rebounds and blocked four shots in the victory. That was Lee’s eighth double-double of the season and she leads the nation with 285 points scored and 48 blocked shots as of Dec. 20.
Glenn, meanwhile, had 15 points with three rebounds, three assists, two blocks and a steal against Oregon. Her 3-pointer kicked off a 7-0 run for the Wildcats early in the second half, and her steal-and-score late helped seal the victory for the Wildcats.
Kansas State has one game left against Illinois-Chicago on Wednesday before opening Big 12 play on Jan. 2 against Baylor.
