Ahmad Moten, 2022 defensive tackle from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, is a fast-rising four-star recruit that is narrowing down his choices after winning the Florida 4A State Championship last week.
The 6’4″ 290-pound defensive lineman holds offers from 23 D-I schools, including Oklahoma, Oregon, LSU, Florida, and Miami among others. His large frame and explosive movement make him a coveted prospect and one that could bloom into a nightmare for offensive lines in the right system.
On Tuesday, he released his top five schools and two Big 12 schools have made the list.
Oklahoma, Miami, North Carolina, Iowa State, and Tennessee have made the cut, but all indications say that this is a race between the Sooners and Cyclones.
R Mason Thomas, a high school teammate, and friend of Moten, is currently committed to Iowa State but the pair of defensive linemen are set to visit Oklahoma together in January. ThomasThese two are a package deal wherever they end up, so expect this to be a dogfight between the Big 12 foes.
Oklahoma is currently the favorite to land the duo according to 247Sports, but Iowa State will give everything they’ve got to bring the pair to Ames in February. This will be one to watch in the coming weeks, so stay tuned.
