Oklahoma’s Taylor Robertson is Big 12 Women’s Basketball Player of the Week

NCAA Womens Basketball: Big 12 Conference Tournament-Oklahoma vs Oklahoma State

Oklahoma’s Taylor Robertson was named the Big 12 Women’s Player of the Week for the first time this season after leading the Sooners to a near-perfect start to the season.

In addition, Texas guard Rori Harmon was named the Big 12 Freshman of the Week.

This is Harmon’s second Freshman of the Week honor and she’s the third Big 12 player to win the Freshman of the Week award multiple times, along with Kansas State’s Serena Sundell and Brylee Glenn.

Robertson became Oklahoma’s all-time leader in made 3-pointer last week in the Sooners’ 83-76 win over Utah. She scored 19 points in the game, but her last 3-pointer gave her 377 for her career, allowing Robertson to assume No. 1 on the list. She is also second on the all-time Big 12 career list and could pass that milestone in just a few games.

Harmon had a great game for Texas last week in its 70-53 win over Princeton. Harmon had 15 points with seven rebounds, three steals and two assists in the victory for the No. 12 Longhorns. She is second in the country among freshmen with 5.1 assists per game.

Big 12 play begins on Sunday, with Texas traveling to Oklahoma State and Oklahoma traveling to Texas Tech.
